Houthis kidnap pro-Saleh journalist, storm his house, assault his family

The Houthis gunmen kidnapped on Monday a journalist loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh after a week of his release because of his criticizing the corruption of theirs and Saleh's forces, who are controlling the capital Sana'a and several provinces.

 

The Yemen News Agency SABA, that the Houthis kidnapped the journalist Kamel al-Khothani after storming his house and assaulting his family and firing live bullets on his eldest daughter and was taken to intensive care due to serious injuries.

 

The Agency quoted Eyewitnesses saying that "the incursion was accompanied by heavy gunfire, followed by an attack on the members of the Al-Khothani family before being abducted to an unknown location."

 

Eyewitnesses added that the Houthis assaulted the wife of the al-Khuthani.

 

Before that, the Houthis had surrounded the house of with armed groups causing fear and panic among the residents of the neighborhood.
