Houthi casualties in battles against government forces west of Marib

A number of militants of the Houthi group and forces loyal to former president Saleh were killed and others injured on Sunday in battles against government forces in the Serawah district west of Marib city, eastern the capital Sana’a.

Saba Media Center, interested in publishing the battle news in Marib, said that the government forces had foiled an attempt by Houthi militants to infiltrate “into the positions of the government forces. They were confronted and forced to flee, leaving behind dead and wounded militants.”

A number of Houthi militants were also killed, and others injured, by artillery shelling launched by the government forces.”

The Center quoted a military source as saying that the shelling had targeted gatherings for Houthi militants in Serawah market, and the shelling also resulted in the destruction of medium weapons, including a 23-caliber machine gun.

However, the Center did not give details about the losses of the government forces.
