29nd Mika Brigade commander killed by Houthi sniper – source

A military source in the pro-government forces said that that a senior commander was killed on Saturday in fighting against the militants of the Houthi group and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Nehm district in northeastern the capital Sana’a.

 

The source told Almasdaronline that Commander of the 22nd Mika Brigade Brigadier Gen. Hameed Al-Twaiti was killed by a Houthi sniper while visiting the sites in al Safeh mount central of Nehm, while the battles were flaring between the two sides.

 

Early Saturday, the pro-government forces seized al Safeh mount, and al-Twaiti was visiting the new sites sat by the 22nd Mika Brigade troops at the mount.

 

It is noteworthy that Al-Twaiti’s death came hours after the death of Yahya Al-Maswari, a senior commander in the 121st Brigade by Houthis while leading the battles in Kahel mount in Nehm, where fierce battles are flaring between the two sides.
