Arab League secretary: Houthis cause Yemeni suffering and danger to Arab security

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit said the Houthi militia is still insisting on being behind their coup, based on their allies in Tehran.

In his speech at the opening session of the 150th session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, held in Cairo, Abul Gheit said that the Houthis rejected any solutions and would stop attending the talks called by the UN envoy in Geneva.

Abul Gheit blamed the militia for the suffering of the Yemeni people, adding, "they pose a serious threat to Arab security--especially in the Red Sea region--and must continue to confront it."
